HD1012 Timber Floor Acoustic System for Refurbishment Projects

The Hush HD1012 Acoustic system is a high performance acoustic insulation that can be used for both floors and ceilings. It combines a number of advanced acoustic insulation products from Hush Acoustics including Hush Panel 28, a market-leading sound insulating panels for floating floors, joist strips seals and absorbers. The development of the HD1012 system reflects the need for an economical sound insulation system for use between separating floors built using timber joists in refurbishment projects. By testing this as a complete system, specifiers can have full confidence that it complies fully with all the Building Regulations covering the UK - Approved Document E (England & Wales), Section 5 (Scotland) or Part G (Northern Ireland). 

The HD1012 system comprises:

• Hush Panel 28 acoustic boards, with all T&G joints glued using Hush Bond, laid over Hush 10 Joist Strips, secured to joist tops as per manufacturer’s instructions, with all perimeters sealed using Hush Seal 20.
• Hush Slab 100 acoustic insulation is fitted between the joists with Hush Bars screw-fixed to the underside of joists at 600mm centres and at right angles to the joists.
• One layer of 12.5mm Gyproc Soundbloc plasterboard and one layer of 15mm Gyproc Fireline plasterboard secured to Hush Bars, with all perimeters sealed with Hush 20 perimeter seal prior to skimming.
