The advantages of under laminate foil heating
Thermofoil underfloor heating foil is designed to make installation of heating under engineered timber floors even easier. Thermofoil comprises of 3 polyester layers which encapsulate the copper bus bar and conductive heating strips. This ultra-thin heating system is designed to provide outputs to suit the heating requirements of any building.
Can I use Thermofoil under my floor?
Whilst Thermofoil is proven in a wide range of flooring applications, it is important to ensure that the laminate or engineered board choice is approved for use with underfloor heating. Always consult the manufacturer's guidelines concerning maximum temperature and residual moisture before making your decision.
It is important that items of furniture used in rooms with underfloor heating have legs or bun feet to ensure adequate airflow under the item of furniture to dissipate the heat.
Thermofoil 100W/m2 is ideal for use as a primary heat source in new build projects insulated to the required level. For larger projects it is possible to use Thermofoil 100W/m2 (instead of 150W/m2) to greatly reduce the overall load of the system while maintaining an adequate heat source.
Please note that Thermofoil is a Class II product and is not suitable for installation in special locations such as wet rooms and bathrooms.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that Thermogroup UK is consulted before specifying.
