Byland Blend is one of our Buff Range Bricks expressing tones of Sandstone and Cream to White.
We have researched and developed this blend over the years, as with all our handmades, using varying fire clay suppliers to achieve different results in the end product.
More recently this blend was used in a Benchmade Format on Westgate Shopping Centre in London (John Lewis). This blend adopted the use of fire clay mined in the works of the renowned Williamson Cliff factory. The bricks are instead referred to as 'Stamford Sand Brown' to differentiate their textured finish from our Byland Blend. This Williamson Cliff factory no longer operates but the clay, the key element in any brick, was used in these bricks and is still available to us today.
Byland Blend remains an important part of our range, offering a contrasting buff alternative to the reds and browns of the Old Clamp.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that York Handmade Brick Company Ltd is consulted before specifying.
