The surface series front support frames and backboxes for the 4000 series modules are manufactured from one piece die cast alloy which provides substantial strength to the door station. The 4000 series modules are simply attached to the frame using a strong ''clip-in'' system. Modules are held securely by inserting anit-tampering lock brackets. The frames are hinged to allow the installer to have both hands free when making connections and adjustments to the 4000 series modules.
Surface frames and backboxes are available in 6 different module sizes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 9 modules. Surface 4000 series rainshields are available for the 6 module sizes and module combinations (4891, 4892, 4893, 4894, 4896 and 4899).
Torx pin screws are used to attach the front frame to the surface mount backbox. The surface backboxes are available in a gun-metal grey finish.
