Its suitability for wet areas, such as showers, swimming pools, and building facades, adds to its versatility. The small size of the tesserae (2 x 2 cm | 3/4 x 3/4) and the narrow joints (~ 1 mm | 2/48) provide the surface with inherent slip resistance, ensuring safety in areas exposed to water. While the mosaic itself is waterproof, it's still necessary to waterproof the foundation for swimming pools and similar installations to ensure durability and performance.
