Perma-Seal 8 Plaster Membrane is a high quality basement wall waterproofing membrane with the added benefit of mesh welded to the surface for direct rendering or dot and dab finishing. Perma-Seal 8 Plaster Mesh is one of the toughest and thickest on the market today and is made from 0.65mm high density polyethylene, able to with stand everyday site impact damage.
Perma-Seal Plaster Membrane is fixed to the basement wall with either Perma-Seal Quick Plugs, Perma-Seal Plaster Plugs 70mm or Perma-Seal Brick Plugs. It is important that the plugs used are sealed either with Brick Plug Sealing Washers or Perma-Seal Rope wrapped around the head of the plug before hammering home.
To fix Perma-Seal 8 Plaster Membrane to the wall you will require approximately 15 plugs per m² (300 per roll), fixing centres internally must not be greater than 250mm horizontally or vertically. On curved or uneven surfaces, closer fixings should be used.
Jointing of Perma-Seal 8 Plaster Mesh is achieved by overlapping two membranes interlocking the studs from the original piece into the new sheet, the overlap should be a minimum of three studs. Perma-Seal Tape is used to achieve a flat joint. Tape the Perma-Seal Tape to the flat area between the last two studs of the previous sheet of membrane with the backing tape still adhered. Carefully remove the backing tape and push the next sheet studs into the previous sheet studs to create the flat joint.
Perma-Seal 8 Plaster Membrane has a 30 year guarantee against deterioration with a life expectancy of at least 50 years (DIN 9001:2000)
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that Permagard is consulted before specifying.
