The Inward opening Nordica Tilt & Turn Timber is a range of windows designed to a German frame profile. Incorporating a dual function handle, the mechanism allows for 'tilt' ventilation at the top of the sash and a 'turn' function to open the sash inwards. This practical design can be utilized for many design possibilities.
Manufactured from preservative treated laminated Scandinavian slow-grown Redwood. Also available in hardwood options: Oak and Meranti.
All timber is manufactured from engineered laminated profiles to ensure structural integrity and durability.
Handle turns 90° to open inwards to allow safe cleaning of the window from the inside. Turn the handle 180° to operate the tilt ventilation function. Turn first is the standard model for this range.
Handle turns 90° to tilt the window sash. Turn the handle 180° to operate the turn function. Using the Tilt first option allows the use of a safety restrictor handle which opens the tilt ventilation function, but requires a key to use the turn function - thus keeping the window secure.
The window tilts inward from the top only. A useful choice if a ventilation option is required with no full opening.
Inward opening Balcony and French Doors are also available in this profile.
Tilt and Slide Patio Doors and Inward Opening Folding Doors also utiltises the same profile.
Standard - Double-glazed units with soft-coat low-e and Argon gas filling with a centre-pane u-value of 1.1W/m2K. In addition, specifying the latest 'Warm Edge' spacers' technology for the glazing unit can further reduce the whole window U-value.
Triple-glazing is available in the same opening options with very good thermal resistance properties - giving a whole window U-value of 0.95 W/m².
Safety glass can be provided either as toughened; or a laminated glass can be added for enhanced safety and security.
Obscure glass can offered in sandblasted or in a variety of Decorative Glass for extra privacy.
Other specialist glazed units incorporating Solar Control, acoustic, and self-cleaning are available.
Glass dividing tenon-jointed or structural bars - transoms (horizontal) or mullions (vertical). These are used between opening sashes and fixed lights, or to create a more generous or substantial appearance to a design.
Decorative glazing bars are a slimmer, more elegant answer to those who wish to create a a traditional appearance. With timber glazing bar both inside or outside, with internal spacer bars between the glass. This gives the appearance of panes created from separated glazed units, as it would have been done traditionally.
