The British Standard EN 1057 : (brand name Blue Label), specifies the requirements for copper tubes annealed soft coils. The tube is manufactured from phosphorus deoxidised (non-arsenical) copper to alloy CW024A. Tube complying to this table is intended for use with Microbore central heating systems and, when buried, should be plastic coated.
APPROVAL: Blue Label conforms to the requirements of the British Standards Institution and Mueller have earned the right to use the Kitemark as evidence of compliance of this tube to the British Standard EN 1057 Blue Label, and have Registered Firm Status to BS EN ISO 9001:2015
MARKING: Tube from 6mm to 10mm inclusive, is permanently die stamped STREAMLINE GB EN 1057 Blue Label and date of manufacture at intervals of not more than 600mm.
JOINTING: These tubes are suitable for connecting by means of capillary or compression fittings to BS EN1254, silver brazing, bronze or autogenous welding. Due to a degree of ovality from coiling, the tubes should be re-rounded prior to jointing with a re-rounding tool.
BENDING: Blue Label can be bent with ease on bending machines, or with bending springs, provided they are of the correct size. Manufacturers of bending machines such as Hilmor, Tubela, Consort, etc, are able to supply hand held benders. Bending by spring is normally carried out with external springs and tight radii bends can be achieved.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that Mueller Europe is consulted before specifying.
