The terracotta we offer for facade cladding is produced in Provence and hand painted or glazed to suit the project. Wonderful Limoges glazes can be added to the base terracotta as we do for lava Stone (see other material section) or glazes can be omitted and the warm tanned flesh colour of the natural terracotta can be sealed and enjoyed. All panels are produced in a large atelier near St. Tropez where experienced artists and craftspeople gather to share ideals and skills to offer products and designs in a durable medium. Terracotta panels as a facade cladding tile was made ubiquitous by key precedent Renzo Piano Workshops Rue De Meaux, Paris, residential block made made by our artisan manufacturers in the 1980’s to great acclaim. From this moment in time many architectural suppliers began to fulfill this market need and we now see an abundance of machine manufactured tiles to choose from. Following the Paris example by our supply just mentioned we now relaunch this solution into the market as a very much more hand made system with the tailored benefit of hand mixed glazes added to the tiles and display herewith in our Applications section some new project precedent.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that Low Impact is consulted before specifying.
