Aircraft Aluminium

by Low Impact

Recycled aircraft Aluminium is 100% post-consumer recycled aluminium from unservicable aircraft fuselages, with new techniques these are fully recyclable, unique and this alloy aluminium has a huge bending strength and an extreme lightness. Reusable aircraft parts are first extracted & stored for resale, dangerous compounds are securely removed and the remainder is melted bringing the recyclability rate overall to 90%. Refer to the Technical page for fitting instructions. The Arizona desert is laden with parked and disassembled old aircraft beyond their useful life. This is a valuable resource which has started to be made into a material resource for interior designers. Added to this graveyard for airframes stored in a dry climate, there are airframes purchased and removed from airfields for careful dismantling. The titanium Rivets and other metals are removed during the disassembly prior to melting. The alloys in aircraft make it a difficult task to recycled without melting the metals down and slicing the end blocks like a Stone. The process uses clean-tech procedures and the surface remains textural to offer an industrial aesthetic. The energy used in the recycling process is 5% of that for primary aluminium. This is then processed into a tile in various format sizes for the end user. We hope to offer soon also more recognizable aircraft pieces to litter your design and bring the glamour and excitement of flight into your space. The material suits high traffic flooring and wall coverings and can be considered for external facade tiling.
