Sawn Natural Port Limestone (PLME)
This fine natural limestone was used by the Romans to build temples and public buildings throughout their empire. The Austro Hungrian empire continued to use this hard wearing stone for centuries to build cathedrals, public buildings and country estates. It can be formed into almost any architectural embellishment, and is available in large bed heights with a consistent colour and texture. It is an ideal alternative to Bath Stone and it is hard to distinguish between the two apart from the competitive price of this stone and its exceptional frost resistance and longevity.
