HW16610 Grande 45° Chevron - Engineered European Oak Wood Flooring - UV Oiled - 10x90mm - Select
HW16610 Grande is a dark black engineered European oak floor installed in a 45° chevron pattern. The engineered construction adds significant stability to the boards allowing for natural wood expansion without compromising on the real wood aesthetic.
During production, the sawn timber is passed through a reactive fuming process which is used to create darker, richer tones right through the hardwood layer. Two applications of a black pigment are then applied to increase the darkness and consistency of colour. The surface is then prefinished with a UV cured hard wax oil that offeres the advantages of lacquer with the subtlety of oil. This micro-porous, water-repellent surface finish also offeres higher protection from stains.
Designated as 'Select' grade, expect a mix of almost prime boards and others containing knots of a limited size; this clean grade boar is a natural alternative to out prime grade. You may find some filled elements and you will also see some variation from heartwood and sapwood present.
All four sides of this board feature a bevelled edge which accentuates the outer perimeter of each individual board. HW16610 comes with a tongue & groove profile and should be fully bonded to the subfloor using a suitable adhesive.
