With a naturally hard wearing surface and excellent slip/skid resistance, Pennant stone from the Forest of Dean has been used as a paving stone for centuries throughout the South West of England and South Wales. Forest Pennant are proud to continue this tradition and have recently supplied major public realm schemes in Ammanford, Abertillery, Bath, Bridgend, Cardiff, Ebbw Vale, Gloucester, Hereford, and Swindon.
Forest Pennant paving is usually supplied with a diamond sawn finish which has a naturally high slip/skid resistance. A textured finish can also be specified which gives the stone an even greater Slip Resistance Value and a different aesthetic appearance that contrasts and complements beautifully with the diamond sawn finish.
Pennant stone is normally sawn into random lengths in standard gauge widths of 200, 300, 450 and 600mm with standard thicknesses of 50, 65 or 75mm thickness. Other thicknesses are available and we are happy to discuss any bespoke requirements that you may have.
Setts, tactile, and corduroy paving elements are also available together with a variety of kerbs and accessories.
Pennant stone setts are perfect in a domestic setting or as a neat border in a public paving area. The natural charm of the stone creates a rustic look that cannot be imitated or matched by concrete, gravel or tarmac. Setts, tactile, and corduroy paving elements are also available together with a variety of kerbs and accessories.
The stone is extracted from our own quarry by traditional methods which are environmentally considerate and also avoid the risk of structural cracks in the raw blocks of stone that can result in service failures.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that Forest Pennant is consulted before specifying.
