CORE Path gravel stabiliser grid makes gravel suitable for; wheelie bins, wheel barrows, pedestrians, bicycles and much, much more. Our Gravel path grid is very easy to install (see Install Guide tab above for instructions) and is perfect for patios and garden paths.
Our gravel path stabilisation grid comes in two sizes. Both the handy pack and the larger sheet are suited to gravel sizes of 3mm-14mm. The depth of the honeycomb is just 18mm which means your gravel consumption is reduced by over 50%. We work on the calculation that 1 tonne of aggregate would cover approx. 35m2
The honeycomb structure is made from high quality polypropylene (Grey Recycled and White Virgin) material and has a geotextile membrane firmly attached to the underside to prevent weed growth.
CORE PATH Handy Pack | contains 6 smaller sheets and is perfect for creating garden paths, at an average pathway width of 800mm, the pack will surface a 1.72m long pathway. The grid is only 18mm deep which means you greatly reduce your gravel consumption. you will only need 2 x 20kg bags to fill one handy pack. The pack will cover a total area of 1.38m2.
CORE PATH Large Sheet | is ideal for those slightly larger Garden Paths or Patio Areas. The Large gravel path stabiliser sheet is the same size as 4 of the smaller sheets from the pack on a continuous membrane and covers an area 0.92m2. again only 18mm deep means that you get an amazing coverage of 35m2 per tonne of aggregate.
The honeycomb grid construction provides tightly packed pockets of loose gravel which create a completely porous hard standing, making it very easy to pass over with wheelie bins, bicycles and scooters.
The CORE Path honeycomb grid is only 18mm deep which means far less gravel is required. Just 1 tonne 10mm gravel will cover approx 35m2 using the CORE PATH Grid. This is saving of almost 50% when compared to laying a traditional gravel path at a depth of 50mm.This not only saves you money on the gravel but also time and labour when it comes to installation, especially in areas where the access is restricted such as the garden of a terraced house or even a roof garden.
In the UK Governments approved guideline document, Part M access to and use of buildings it states that the surface of an approach available to a wheelchair user should be firm enough to support the weight of the user and his or her wheelchair and smooth enough to permit easy manoeuvre. It should also take account of the needs of stick and crutch users. Loose laid materials such as gravel and shingle are seen as unsuitable, however, we have proven through video footage and case study that loose laid aggregate in a CORE PATH stabiliser is sufficiently stable to allow safe passage for all of the above named users, and now count many Local Government departments amongst our list of satisfied customers.
Our unique manufacturing technique enables us to heat weld a high quality geotextile membrane to the underside of every panel. This heat weld attaches the membrane firmly to the honeycomb structure and creates a tray for the gravel to sit in, this not only prevents weed growth but also stops the gravel from migrating under the cell wall which causes the honeycomb structure to rise and become exposed making it susceptible to irreparable damage.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that CORE Landscape Products is consulted before specifying.
