CGL Shingle System
This style of traditional cladding has assumed growing popularity in the UK market recently and CGL offer shingle systems in a wide variety of metals and finishes. This style of cladding is described as 'fully supported' as shingles are historically manufactured from thin gauge metals and therefore have virtually no inherent spanning capability. Regular fixing of the shingle edges by clips is therefore essential together with the overlap arrangement at shingle edges. Materials in popular use are Stainless Steel Copper Aluminium Zinc Metal gauges used range from 0.5mm to 1.2mm and therefore the systems are priced economically. A 'distressed' appearance is accepted as standard due to the gauge and flexibility of the metals.
