Moorland slates have an appearance like higher-end, natural slates with a less pronounced surface texture. Cembrit Moorland's authentic dressed edges lend themselves to all manner of prestigious applications or where planning requirements demand a more natural-looking roofscape. They are manufactured to the highest European standards, are consistent, light-weight and pre-holed which means they do not require grading and sorting before installation. Moorland slates are manufactured using Portland cement together with a formulation of superior blended synthetic and cellulose fibres. Moorland slates are pigmented during production and are fully compressed. They are fully coated with a high quality, semi-matt acrylic pigmented finish to the top face and dressed edges, which ensures the random, natural appearance is visible from street level. The rear is also covered with a tinted, high-performance binder which seals the cement matrix and prevents sticking and abrasion during transit and installation.
