Vulcan RCS - Impact tested Cantilever Sliding Gate

The impact-tested Vulcan RCS Cantilever Sliding Gate has the widest span available in the perimeter protection market. With a 10metre clear opening, the product is tested to both PAS 68 & IWA 14-1. The Vulcan RCS Gate will stop a 7,500kg vehicle travelling at 64kph (40mph), impressively arresting the vehicle in just 4.5metres.

The design is based on SlideGuard Pro, our LPS 1175 accredited cantilever and is being submitted for complete testing under LPS 1175 in the coming months.

The aluminium construction makes this gate lightweight enabling it to run smoothly without the need for a track, and uses the same components that are on thousands of gates, having completed millions of operating cycles. This really illustrates our commitment to producing a smooth, reliable gate.

By working with our sister companies within HS Security, we have been able to create a really neat, elegant solution, which brings together a proven base product from Parking Facilities, Barkers forced entry tested cantilever & tried and tested shallow mount foundation technology from ATG Access.

Vulcan RCS locks with a physical pin to secure the gate. The 3-phase motor with an in-built inverter makes for smooth operation as it maintains absolute control during movement. This allows the gate to slow down as it enters the post and the pin engages.

As a safety precaution, dual height photocells, CAT 3 safety edges and an emergency stop button are fitted as standard. Together, these safety devices reduce the risk of entrapments, crushing and shearing, ensuring compliance with British Standards. And of course, the gate can be powered by a battery or manually operated to maintain security in the event of a power outage.
